Board of Assessment Review
If a property owner is dissatisfied with their assessment, they may appeal to the Board of Assessment Review on Grievance Day - Tuesday, May 28th from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm. To file an appeal, a complaint form (NYS Form RP-524) must be completed and filed with the assessor's office. Complaint forms are available in the assessor's office or below. Once we receive the completed form, an appointment will be scheduled.
You also have an option for a mail-in review. Complete the NYS RP-524 form; submit the form along with any supporting documentation to the assessor's office by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, May 28th.
All decisions will be mailed by July 1, 2019. NO decisions will be made at the time of the appointment.
Assessment Challenge Timeline:
1. Obtain and complete RP-524 form.
2. Submit RP-524 form to assessor's office by May 28th / obtain appointment.
3. Appear at Grievance Day (or mail-in complaint form by May 28th).
4. Decision letters mailed on or before July 1, 2019.
